Corporate Social Responsibility
At Fertile Ground Communications, we believe that communication is a powerful tool for justice, and with that power comes responsibility—to use our voice, our platform, and our work to create a more inclusive, equitable world.
That’s what guides us—every client, every project, every word.
We have set the following aspirations and goals:
Use our platform and voice to advocate for racial justice; diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace; and creating more safe workspaces for Black, indigenous, and other people of color. See examples here.
Use images and stories of historically excluded people in writing and on our website, and remind clients of the need for representation online and in company demographics.
Continue to advance our own anti-racism education.
Commit to at least 10 percent of pro bono work for community organizations that work for racial, immigration, and gender justice. Make regular monetary donations to and spotlight anti-racism organizations.
Invest in environmentally friendly equipment and office supplies, minimize the use of single-occupancy vehicles and printing, and use online meeting tools or mass transit whenever possible for business meetings.
Support local business and pay a living wage to employees and vendors. Give our money to people of color and minority-owned businesses when we hire vendors. Seek to hire people of color when we expand.
Use our platform to center historically excluded voices by featuring them on my podcasts, "Finding Fertile Ground" and "Companies That Care."
