Corporate Social Responsibility

Fertile Ground Communications outlined its corporate social responsibility in this article, "Don't Let BLMwashing Become the New Greenwashing." The items in italics are aspirations and goals, and the rest we are already doing:
 

  • Use my platform and voice to advocate for racial justice; diversity, equity, and inclusion in the workplace; and creating more safe workspaces for BIPOC. See examples here.

Girls Inc. activity at CH2M HILL

  • Use images and stories of BIPOC in my writing and on my website, and remind my clients of the need for representation online and in company demographics. 
     

  • Continue to advance my own anti-racism education.
     

  • Commit to at least 10 percent of pro bono work for community organizations that work for racial, immigration, and gender justice. 
     

  • Make regular monetary donations to and spotlight anti-racism organizations. 
     

  • Invest in environmentally friendly equipment and office supplies, minimize the use of single-occupancy vehicles and printing, and use online meeting tools or mass transit whenever possible for business meetings.
     

  • Give my money to BIPOC and minority-owned businesses when I hire vendors. 
     

  • Seek to hire BIPOC when I expand my business.
     

  • Feature BIPOC businesses and individuals on my new podcast, "Finding Fertile Ground."
